In need of a video converter utility so that I could create vodcasts (Video Podcasts) I ran accross AVS Video Tools v5.3.

Installation was a breeze with no snags, hangups or strange configuration requirements. Upon completing the installation I was given the option to launch the program immediately which I went ahead and did.

The simple straight forward interface was very intuitive and within a minute or two I was converting my first MPEG-2 video to a MP4 video ideal for my Video iPod.

The video I chose for the test was nearly 1 gig in size (923MB to be precise) and AVS Video Tools converted it in just a little under an hour. The final output file size of the MP4 (m4v) was 287MB.

The video editor was not as intuitive as I would have liked and seemed to run slugishly on my computer. However I had no need for this video tool for my project so I just left that alone.

Overall the program performed the exact work I needed to complete my project. I know that this product is packed with many more features then I tried. So I would highly recommend checking it out for yourself to see all the wonderful stuff it has to offer.
